Website Evaluation

The following checklist can be used to evaluate a website’s validity. For each question, if you can answer yes, give it a one. If you answer no, give it a zero. At the end, add them up and get a score out of ten.

 

  1. Can you figure out when the website was last updated/how recent the information is?

  2. Is the information on the site believable and backed by sources?

  3. Does the information sound relatively free of bias?

  4. Does the website have a place that tells you its purpose?

  5. Does the site tell you who wrote the information?

  6. Is there contact information for whoever runs the site?

  7. Does the website address sound reputable and professional?

  8. Does the website look well designed and professional?

  9. Are there useful multimedia aspects to the page?

  10. Is the page organized?
